Fredrik Svensson
Born: January 2, 1973
Family: Mother, father, sister and a lovely
girlfriend.
My interests are music, drums and movies
(especially if Robert De Niro is in it).
My musical inspiration I get from Sting, Dee
Dee Bridgewater, Bluestravellers and Dave Matthevs
band among others. To get more ideas as a drummer I listen to
Steve Gadd (get a hold of the Eric Clapton video concert
from Hyde park if you want to listen to some serious grove),
Vinnie Colaiuta, Kenny Aronoff, Stephen Perkins (Porno for
Pyros), Joe Morello (buy his solo records or any record that
he is playing on with Dave Brubeck Quartet and study the
master on jazz drums) and Joey Heredia (listen to him on
Michael Ruffs live cd Feels good). My all time favorite
recording is Ten Summoners tales by Sting with Vinnie
Colaiuta on drums.
Besides DF I have also played with Nisse
Landgren, Triple and Touch, Charlie Norman, Kee Marcello and
Barbro Svensson among others.
My equipment:

Craviotto,solid maple shell), 5"x14", 6"x14"(brass) and a
Sonor Jungle snare.

Remo ambassador renaissance drumheads both
on top and bottom (except on the bassdrum batter head where
I use a renaissance power stroke). I think those heads give
me a nice blend between calfskins and the modern"wet" sound.
